“A ROOM FULL OF TREASURE”
My brand was supposed to welcome the new year with celebrating our 10 year jubilee. But then my beloved hometown, my whole country and the entire world turned up side down. Covid-19 affected, and still affects us in some way I could never even imagine.
My first thought was – what should I do? Do I take a break from creating beautiful things? Should I fight the difficult times or focus on by being safe, making all my family members, friends and colleagues here at home and around the world safe from the invisible enemy? The answer was easy and I, like so many others, went into isolation and safety with my loved ones.
Still the big question lingered. How could I continue focusing on my brand and the legacy in which I have invested my whole self and built up for so many years?
Shortly after the Covid-19 turbulence commenced, I started looking around in my atelier. So many meters of left over fabrics on the shelfs, in the cupboards and multiple fabric rolls standing in the corner of the room along with archived silk dresses from earlier seasons. And then came the idea. Why not use all the beautiful things I already have up-cycled and create a new beautiful collection.
I am immensely proud to present my new collection “Treasure”. It has individuality, with highly handcrafted styles, strong silhouettes and beautiful colors. Each dress has been designed with a conscious thought in mind and the colors are inspired by mother nature. Hidden gems on my shelves have been turned into sparkling jewels, and this is my way to try to put some color and joy back into our world.
Award-winning fashion brand JENNIFER BLOM was born in 2010, with a vision to create beautiful custom-made gala dresses for the red carpet. With focus on femininity, glamour, pleating and with a unique way of reading the female body, skilful cutting techniques and delicate materials give life to sustainable, handcrafted quality pieces that will be loved for generations. The brand is often seen at prestigious events, such as the Nobel Prize Ceremony, worn by celebrities and royalties as the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria.
