HOPE creates contemporary, high-quality fashion, aimed to inspire and emphasize individual style. We believe in progressive – yet timeless – design, strong tailoring and attention to detail. We’re passionate about DIVERSITY, CREATIVITY and SELF EXPRESSION. There’s truly no reason why anyone today should feel limited by old fashion conventions.

For us, style comes before gender, and we encourage our customers to explore our full assortment, rather than just one department. Starting spring 2017, all our garments are labelled with both men’s and women’s sizes.

HOPE AUTUMN/WINTER 2021

The HOPE Autumn/Winter 2021 collection is a study in the (re-)definition of the term space and its influence on the self; personal space vs. public space, local space vs. global space – all of which, given the present circumstances, have been given new meanings and annotations. “I’ve noticed, in myself and in others, that the body is very top-of-mind these days, but not in the way we’re used to. We’ve grown to realise that the body is fragile, fragile in ways we’re not familiar with and we feel the need to cover up. And if you’d like to show a bit of skin it better be your legs, stomach or your back – the “not-so-hazardous” parts of the body”, says HOPE Creative Director Frida Bard.

For that reason, focus has been laid heavily on the flux of the body using neat and fluid fabrics such as pure wools, silk rayon velvet, hammered organza and soft satin to add a much-needed sensation of intimacy and purity. Silhouettes are either fitted and tailored or loose and drapey, allowing garments to rest gently on the contours of the body or leaving a light and airy space between fabric and skin. Recurring detailing includes handmade glass buttoning and heavy metal twist and turn closures.

The HOPE Autumn/Winter 2021 collection is one of ‘magnum in parvo’ – where the attention to detail has in some regard been replaced with the lack thereof, meaning: the lack of detail as the sublime. There’s a pursuit for the pure, the honest, the close and the near, that of what you can see and feel because when the smoke settles that’s what really matters.

By navigating the systems and structures of fashion HOPE enters this new season with the notion of giving oneself space to instinctively arrange new thoughts. Starting this season HOPE is also replacing the previous pre-collections with a wider main collection in four individual drops. The four drops work as a gentle transition from the ease of late summer to the more cold and austere months where the objective is ready-to-wear, functional and sustainable fashion. In addition, along with the Autumn/Winter collection, HOPE adds the long lead essentials collection WORK as a continuation of their true-to-brand mission of longevity and sustainability.
