THE FAMOUS ABBA GROUP’S MUSIC NEVER GOES OUT OF FASHION. Generations of music lovers relive their youth or discover their parents’ idols in equal measures. Ursula Wångander, Fashion stylist and Balenciaga muse, meets Owe Sandström, Costume designer and animal loving TV presenter, who created the sensational ABBA stage outfits. Owe takes us through his life with ABBA, at ABBA The Museum in Stockholm.

Owe designed ABBA's tour costumes and is probably the only pop designer to have worked with such a big act from beginning to end. His passion for animals served as an inspiration for many of ABBA's costumes — perhaps the most famous example being Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Agnetha Fältskog’s iconic cat dresses.






OWE SANDSTRÖM

Owe Sandström is a world famous designer who created the stage costumes for many swedish artists in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Above all he is famous for the extraordinary outfits he created for ABBA. Besides being a designer, Owe Sandström is a zoologist, who also studied botany, marine biology and much more.

URSULA WÅNGANDER

She is a well-reputed stylist who has worked as a freelancer for 30 years. Ursula is the fashion director at the magazine Scandinavian MAN. She has had an international modeling career, been a muse for the French fashion house Balenciaga, walked three of their shows, been one of their faces in campaigns around the world and has been immortalized as a mannequin doll in Balenciaga's store in Milan.
